Lisa-Marie is training as an industrial clerk with additional qualifications in international business management and foreign languages at ebm‑papst. Since Lisa-Marie had already been abroad twice as a schoolgirl, she was all the more pleased that ebm‑papst offers its apprentices the opportunity to complete a two-month internship abroad.
„Even during my time at school, I was able to grow personally during both stays abroad and also make some progress in language skills.“

Planning for the two-month stay began at the end of 2023. At the very beginning, the question arose as to where Lisa-Marie and the other two apprentices from her year should go. She decided on Spain - in part because she had chosen Spanish as her second foreign language and examination subject at vocational school.
Aside from the practical aspects, Lisa-Marie had a clear idea beforehand of what she wanted to take away from her internship in Spain. This included stepping out of her comfort zone and in doing so to grow personally, get to know the culture and language better, but also to expand her knowledge of working with the ebm‑papst international branches.
The trip started on May 5, 2024. First of all to Cadiz for a week at the local language school. She then took the express train to Madrid - to the ebm‑papst company office.
Lisa-Marie arrived in the Spanish capital in the middle of the night. She was picked up at the station by the son of a colleague who took her to her accommodation. Even at 1:00 a.m., however, there was still a lot going on in Madrid. Looking out of the window of the moving car, the young apprentice kept discovering new things - mostly people hugging each other warmly or chatting animatedly.
The first impression of the warmth of the people in Madrid did not fade over the next few days, especially at Lisa-Marie's new workplace at ebm‑papst. On her first day, she was eagerly awaited and welcomed by everyone during a guided tour.
A typical working day for her here looks a little different than in Germany. Lisa-Marie starts work at 7 a.m. so that she can use the late afternoon to explore and experience things. Instead of taking the car, she gets to work by bus in Madrid. Once she arrives at the ebm‑papst branch, her tasks range from supporting her colleagues in day-to-day business to working on her own projects with the youth and apprentice representatives. She gets off work at around 3 p.m.. Lisa-Marie uses this time to do sport or to take a trip to the Parque de El Retrio. Because the metro in Madrid offers her maximum flexibility, she can explore the city almost every day after work and always experiences something new.
„ebm‑papst not only gave me the opportunity to spend two months at the branch in Spain, but also supported me both in planning and financially.“

Following her stay abroad, Lisa-Marie is now already working in Corporate Communications, where she will be taken on after completing her apprenticeship. Parallel to her job, she will also be starting a part-time degree course in March 2025 with the support of ebm‑papst.
Lisa-Marie describes the two-month internship abroad as a unique opportunity that has taken her a step further in all areas of her life. She recommends the apprenticeship with a stay abroad at ebm‑papst to anyone who wants to get to know themselves and the company from a completely different perspective.
